10 Famous Examples of Karmic Relationships from History and Pop Culture

Romantic relationships end in many different ways. Many end up happy and content with their partners, while many others as well end bitterly. Although all of us human beings dislike being rejected or dumped, it is undeniable that there are lessons to be learned from a failed relationship, whether we understand and apply those lessons or not. Today, we’ll be showing you examples of a type of romantic relationship that is definitively set up to fail so that the couple can either heal or improve themselves. These are what one would call a Karmic Relationship.

By definition Karmic Relationships are romantic relationships that tend to burn extra hot early on; couples in a Karmic Relationship are so heavily “in love” with each other that they seem to always be in a trance when they are together even though they’ve just met for a week or a couple of days. This trance, however, does not last that long as many things will start to pop up that will differentiate the couple from each other, ultimately creating a massive rift in the relationship, which then eventually leads to a breakup (this is not to say that ALL Karmic relationships end up in a breakup, some do improve and end up as a proper and wholesome relationship, but breakups are what usually happen).

However, even though Karmic relationships end bitterly, these relationships are what usually help the couple improve as individuals, either through being healed of previous pains or through self-improvement. There are no scientific explanations as to why Karmic relationships exist, but according to karmic beliefs, Karmic relationships are said to be the result of a “wound” that has not healed in the couple’s previous lives and thus must fix said wound for them to move on. Because of this tragic nature, Karmic relationships have been heavily used in pop culture, most often utilized in movies and novels. Though this is not to say that there aren’t any real-life examples of this relationship, art is a reflection of reality after all.

Now that we’ve got a basic understanding of what a Karmic relationship is, here are some of the more famous examples of Karmic relationships found in history and pop culture.
